Prayer Wheels, Sevenoaks Library
| Part of the Sevenoaks Kaleidoscope project to rejuvinate Sevenoaks library, art gallery and museum Malcolm constructed three beautifully engineered wheels to represent the concept of praying and prayer wheels. Each wheel had a unique surface pattern or texture, one is covered in beautiful leather patchwork, another is rivetted like a victorian water tank, and the third is covered in images from Malcolm's own portfolio. When the wheels are rotated they trigger a video projected onto the library walls. The speed of the video reflects the speed of the wheel. The three videos blend and overlay producing a rich visual montage. |
