Centre for Alternative Technology, CAT

After a residency at the Centre for Alternative Technology (CAT), two installations were erected in the grounds at CAT: one on a hill and the other in the courtyard. A wind turbine and photo voltaic solar panels (PVs) powered the projectors. The objectives were to explore further the use of renewable energy sources for powering digital installations, and to specify controlled environmental housings for the projectors which would maintain optimum running conditions regardless of the British weather.

Alternative power sources make the installation adaptable and autonomous, resolving the difficulties of British weather conditions whilst keeping an eye on the environmental impact of my work.
